I. Do Now
II. Swing Slang Song
III. Swing Musician biography
I. Do Now: Swing music became famous during the 1930's and changed the way many Americans felt about music. Looking at the pictures above, what do you think is different about Swing and today's music? Is the music of today as vibrant and as energetic as Swing? Why or why not?
II. Swing Slang Song - You will write a short story (3-5 paragraphs) about the youth of today using 20 words from the Hepster's Dictionary (<--click). Email the song to omar.amador.79@gmail.com or post the song on the blog. It is okay to write about a different subject as long as you include 20 words from the hepster's dictionary. Be sure to underline the words. You may not use the same word twice.
III.Work on your GarageBand track. Plan on having your lyrics from yesterday fit the music you are creating.
From the look of the pictures it looked like they were energetic and having a good time. If you compare that to today's music it's not the same. Why? Because men in exploit women as candy girls.
ReplyDeleteits looks like a dance i should learn lol. They had alot of energy just swinging the women around like there nothing. But they had alot of fun in the end thats what matters and the music there moving to doesn't sound that good so i don't know how they were dancing to that.
ReplyDeleteFrom the pictures above swing dancing used a lot of energy. It seemed to very fun. Dancing now is very different because alot of people dont use their hands to seperate from each other.
ReplyDeleteFrom the picture you can tell that the music back then was just to have fun and not have artist talk bad about femelas. This made it more fun for people to dance this type of music. And now all you hear in songs is b**** this b**** that. So it makes females look stupid
ReplyDeleteI feel like they had alot more fun and everybody looks happy. Now a days music is mostly about the same thing. Men talking bad about women and thats not what it was about back then.
